What can a dental exam detect early?

Do I need X-rays if I’m not having pain?
Yes. Many dental problems develop without symptoms. X-rays allow the dentist to see issues below the surface, such as decay between teeth or bone loss, before pain occurs.
What happens during a dental exam?
Your exam includes a review of your medical history, a visual examination of your teeth and gums, screening for oral cancer, evaluation of existing dental work, and diagnostic X-rays if needed.

Are dental exams and X-rays covered by insurance?
Many PPO dental insurance plans cover routine exams and X-rays at little to no cost. We accept most PPO plans and Medicare Advantage, but do not accept Medicare, Medi-Cal, Denti-Cal, or HMO plans. For patients without PPO coverage, we offer a Cash Discount Membership Program. Our team is happy to verify your benefits and explain coverage before your visit.
Can children get dental X-rays?
Yes. Dental X-rays are safe for children and are only taken when necessary. They help monitor tooth development and detect cavities early, especially in hard-to-see areas.
Will I see my X-ray results during my visit?
Yes. Our digital imaging allows you to view your X-rays on screen during your appointment, so your dentist can explain findings clearly and answer any questions right away.
